Why different file types?

Select the right file
for the job

Depending on where you're using your logo, you'll need the right type of file for the job. Below are some examples of which file you'll need for different jobs.

Signage, vehicle livery and large scale

If your logo needs to be large then you'll want an .eps file. This file is a vector image and can be scaled infinitely making this ideal for large scale work.

Printed material, leaflets, posters and adverts

For professional print applications we supply CMYK .eps, .tiff and .psd files. These offer great flexibility for professional designers.

Home printed material e.g. Word documents

When printing documents at home most programs will allow you to use .tiff and .jpg files.

Black & white newspaper adverts

We supply a greyscale only version of your logo that has no colour values.

Web graphics, website logo, banner adverts

With 3 different sized .jpg files saved in RGB, these versions are designed for all screen use.

Powerpoint presentations

As above, we supply 3 different sized .jpg files that reproduce well on screen.

Logo Design Examples

Vector or Bitmap

A bitmap image is made up of a fixed number of dots, whereas a vector is made up of shapes.

Bitmap Images

If a bitmap image is scaled larger than it's maximum size the dots that make up the image will become visible and the image will lose its crispness and clarity.

Vector Shapes

As the vector image is made up of shapes, it can scale without any loss in quality, making this type of file ideal for large scale or high resolution print work.
